2017 Ford Fusion Release Date

The Ford Fusion was first introduced in 2006 and since has been a popular midsize sedan for the Ford industry. Ford recently announced that the Ford Fusion has received a refreshed lineup for the 2017 model year. Ford is releasing an all-new Fusion Sport, Platinum model, updated hybrid models as well as more safety and technology features. The 2017 Fusions will also have Ford’s newest SYNC 3 which promises faster response and easier use. The Fusions will also receive improved cruise control system, pedestrian detection, and an enhanced parking feature that allows for perpendicular maneuvers. The 2017 Ford Fusion release date will be sometime this summer while the Fusion Sport will be released a few weeks later than the other 2017 Fusion models.  

2017 Ford Fusion Sport

Rightly so, the all-new Fusion Sport is getting a lot of attention since it was announced. The Fusion Sport will come with a standard 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine that is said to produce 325 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque both of which exceed the V6 Camry and Accord’s numbers. The features included on the Fusion Sport will be a continuously controlled damping suspension, blacked-out mesh grille, 19-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, and a dual-twin exhaust ports. The Fusion Sport will also feature Ford’s new pothole detection system which adjusts the shock absorbers to greatly reduce the severity of impact transmitted to occupants.

2017 Ford Fusion Engine Options

The 2017 Ford Fusion will have 3 available engine options. The 1.5L engine comes standard with auto start-stop technology and is paired with a standard six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The 2.0L engine which will be standard on the Titanium and Platinum is a great choice for those wanting more power, it too is paired with a standard six-speed automatic transmission and is available with all-wheel drive. The 2.7L engine is available exclusively on the Fusion Sport and delivers high-performance V6 power, with a six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and standard all-wheel drive.
