Heritage Ford food collection drive near South Burlington, VT
Everyone on the Heritage Ford team is very excited about taking part in a food collection drive near South Burlington, VT that will help fill up the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf. Our efforts have already begun and we will continue taking donations of canned and other non-perishable, shelf-stable products through Nov. 17. In order to make things a little more interesting, we are competing against our colleges at Heritage Toyota. Both dealerships will be filling up the bed of a pickup truck – a Ford F-150 – to deliver the proceeds to the Chittenden facility.
What should I donate?
Operations like the one at the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf want to make sure people have enough to eat. A close second priority is to make sure that the food they have available is as healthy and nutritious as possible. Here are some suggestions that experts say will really make a difference.
Will there be any turkey?
Of course, no holiday meal would be complete without a perfectly-cooked turkey. Once all of the food that can be collected is in the back of our designated Ford F-150, Heritage Auto Group will make a mass contribution of $1,000 worth of turkeys to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.
Where can I donate
In addition to being able to drop food donations off at either the Heritage Ford or Heritage Toyota showrooms, teams from both dealerships will also host another chance for people to make contributions. Our teams will join the Queen City Saints at Bluebird Barbecue on Nov. 19 from noon until 4 p.m. Following that event, trucks from each dealership will drop the donations at the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.
