New aluminum body in the 2018 Ford Expedition
The biggest change from the 2017 Expedition to the all-new 2018 model is the new aluminum body instead of steel. If you’ve been paying attention to the Ford F-150 for the last few years then you likely already know the multiple benefits this has. About 300 pounds was shaved off the 2017 Expedition model with the switch to aluminum, which means your engine can focus more on driving or towing, while also allowing Ford to pack more goodies into the Expedition’s interior for the 2018 model.
