Why are the Mustang watches so special?
The two outside-of-the-box thinkers have spent a fair amount of time scouring just about inch of the Earth scouring flea markets and salvage yards to obtain genuine Mustang parts. They then give the parts to REC Watches, that is based in Denmark, to transformed trash into treasure. Some parts are even sourced from souped-up racing versions of the famous pony car for timepieces that are truly unique.
?“Most people would just see a pile of metal, a ghost of a Mustang. We see something completely different – the soul of a car and a story that needs to be told,” co-founder Mygh said in a Ford press release. “I’m not cutting up Mustangs. I’m bringing Mustangs that are beyond repair back to life as a watch.”
To make sure the history of the reclaimed components isn’t lost, the meticulous experts in Denmark painstakingly research the provenance of each vehicle the part comes from, as far back as possible.
How much do they cost?
Just like anything else worth having, the new Ford Mustang watches are going to be a bit of investment. According to information released by Ford, these one-of-a-kind watches have starting prices of nearly $1,500.
